100 Resilient Cities – Pioneered by The Rockefeller Foundation (100RC) is an organisation dedicated to helping cities to be better prepared for and quickly rebound from 21st century shocks and stresses. 100 Resilient Cities is working with 100 member cities from around the globe for whom it provides:  1) Financial and other support for putting in place a new city resilience leader, a Chief Resilience Officer; 2) Support for development of a robust resilience strategy; 3) Management of a peer-to-peer network of member cities who can learn from and help each other; and 4) Connecting member cities to curated solutions of services provided by Platform Partners who can help them to implement their resilience strategies. 100RC seeks to increase awareness of the importance of resilience thinking, to catalyse a new community of urban resilience practitioners and spur the growth of a robust ecosystem of resilience-focused solutions and solution providers.


100 Resilient Cities is looking for an intern in our London Office. The intern will work closely with our Strategy Delivery Unit providing technical, logistical and administrative support.

The Strategy Delivery Unit focuses on providing technical support to cities that are generating and implementing their resilience strategies. This knowledge will help our organisation to better understand the expertise and technical support required to build more resilient cities.

Responsibilities could include but are not limited to:

  • Support logistics and internal financial reporting of the Strategy Delivery team
  • Support the preparation of written and graphic materials for major workshops and consultation activities with a portfolio of cities
  • Analyse spatial and non-spatial information as input to the strategy creation process in a portfolio of cities
  • Support the production of deliverables; ensure appropriate recording of meetings as well as input/output data
  • Develop rigorous analysis of data (spatial and non-spatial) to support the development of evidence-based knowledge of a portfolio of cities

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant degree (or sufficient progress towards a degree) on the built environment (e.g. geography, urban planning, architecture, sustainability, environment, or engineering) or multidisciplinary programmes related to urban studies (e.g. classics, geography, environmental science, social/public policy, development studies)
  • Interest in developing skills in imaging and desktop publishing software (Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design)
  • Innate ability to explore, understand, and analyze complex spatial and non-spatial datasets; passion for visual communications
  • Commitment to 100 RC’s mission
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills
  • Strong research and analysis skills
  • Ability to work independently, proactively, and collaborate with a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word); Salesforce experience strong preferred
  • Results oriented, with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in fast paced environment 
  • Spanish proficiency is highly desirable
  • Must have authorisation to work in the UK

Compensation and Duration:

100RC will provide a stipend. The internships will consist of a full-time placement for up to 10-12 weeks.
