100 Resilient Cities – Pioneered by The Rockefeller Foundation (100RC) is a organization dedicated to helping cities to be better prepared for and quickly rebound from 21st century shocks and stresses. 100 Resilient Cities is working with 100 member cities from around the globe for whom it provides four kinds of value, to start: 1) Financial and other support for putting in place a new city resilience leader, a Chief Resilience Officer; 2) Support for development of a robust resilience strategy; 3) Management of a peer-to-peer network of member cities who can learn from and help each other; and 4) Connecting member cities to curated solutions of services provided by Platform Partners who can help them to implement their resilience strategies. 100RC seeks to increase awareness of the importance of resilience thinking, to catalyze a new community of urban resilience practitioners and spur the growth of a robust ecosystem of resilience-focused solutions and solution providers.


100 Resilient Cities is looking for an intern in our Singapore office. The intern will work closely with the Singapore team on the APAC portfolio doing research and supporting external communications event coordination. The intern will work with the 100RC APAC cities on building urban resilience.

Responsibilities could include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct research on a variety of issues of urban resilience including member cities and help to build knowledge for the organization and work across 100RC to document and share knowledge
  • Support team by managing logistical and administrative functions for core activities
  • Assist in gathering information about potential collaborators and supportive initiatives in Asia and Pacific
  • Assist in data gathering and analysis in salesforce and other data management tools
  • Help the team with preparing and customizing materials for city engagement, stakeholder engagement and internal presentations and meetings
  • Assist in event organization and logistics
  • Ad hoc tasks and team specific projects

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate Program; preferably infields related to urban planning, urban policy, sustainability, engineering, etc
  • Commitment to 100 RC’s mission and interest in urban development issues
  • Experience across a minimum of 4 countries in the APAC portfolio 
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills
  • Strong research and analysis skills
  • Experience working on events - event planning and coordination
  • Ability to work independently, proactively, and collaborate with a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Results oriented, with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in fast paced environment 
  • Proficient in English and one other relevant language with a preference for Chinese or Thai.
  • Must be authorized to work in Singapore

Compensation and Duration:

100RC will provide a stipend. The internship will consist of a full-time placement beginning no later than April 2018 and ending in August 2018.
