ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

100 Resilient Cities – Pioneered by The Rockefeller Foundation (100RC) is a new organization dedicated to helping cities to be better prepared for and quickly rebound from 21st century shocks and stresses. 100 Resilient Cities has selected and is working with 100 member cities from around the globe for whom it provides four kinds of value, to start: 1) Financial and other support for putting in place a new city resilience leader, a Chief Resilience Officer; 2) Support for development of a robust resilience strategy; 3) Management of a peer-to-peer network of member cities who can learn from and help each other; and 4) Connecting member cities to curated solutions of services provided by Platform Partners who can help them to implement their resilience strategies. 100RC seeks to increase awareness of the importance of resilience thinking, to catalyze a new community of urban resilience practitioners and spur the growth of a robust ecosystem of resilience-focused solutions and solution providers.

Your Role

100RC is looking for a Digital Communications Associate to join our team and help us continue to build support for resilience-building work in cities around the world. You’ll be part of 100RC’s Communications team, working closely with our Head of Digital Strategy to develop and execute campaigns across multiple digital channels.
 

Initial Responsibilities include:

  • Updating and maintaining the 100RC website and blog via our CMS
  • Working with internal and external authors to create digital content, including drafting blog posts and other digital content for the site
  • Support the drafting, editing, and distribution of content in the 100RC e-mail program
  • Drafting and scheduling social media content using existing content and messaging guidelines
  • Helping grow and maintain 100RC’s digital channels and audiences using best practices and creative campaign ideas
  • Evangelizing and promoting digital channels throughout your work and 100RC
  • Generally assisting in the “movement-building” and “buzz-creating” aspect of 100 Resilient Cities’ work.

In addition, you may also be:

  • Creating graphics for social media using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
  • Managing 100RC’s visual asset database (finding and compiling photos for use)
  • Researching relevant online publications for the email program, blogs, and social channels
  • Working with 100RC’s vendors, including digital communications partners, agencies, video and photography providers, and content authors and managing contracts for 100RC’s digital communications work
     

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of a BA/BS degree
  • A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in digital communications, content management, email programs/campaigns, and social media
  • Experience with Content Management Systems (HTML/CSS a plus)
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop or InDesign, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in graphic design for digital and traditional formats
  • Experience in driving successful social media campaigns and fluency in multiple social media platforms
  • Excellent writing and communications skills for multiple audiences, including internal and external audiences, across various digital channels
  • Ability to work independently, drive progress, share vision, promote innovation, and thrive under ambiguous and dynamic conditions with collegiality and flexibility
  • A thorough understanding of the technical aspects of web and digital communications functionality
     

You may also have:

  • Proven experience in email list analysis and segmentation and A/B testing
  • Ability to speak foreign languages
  • Experience managing Search Engine Marketing campaigns (Google AdWords and/or Google Grant)
